Set within the Royal Oak pub is the Acorn
Brasserie, open evenings only. The menu starts with
delights such as moules marinière or garlic mushrooms before
moving onto main courses such as pan-seared salmon and royal
hotpot with dumplings. All dishes are reasonably priced and
generously portioned with dishes inspired by cuisines from
around the world to offer plenty of choice for everyone.

Bel and the Dragon describes itself as a
country pub and eating-house. It’s interior is that of a
traditional pub and the menu is certainly of interest with
starters such as wok fried king prawns with chilli and garlic
oil or goat’s cheese and spinach strudel. Main course
options vary from roast cod fillet on crushed new potatoes
served with a saffron and fennel broth, or Thai marinated duck
breast with sautéed sweet peppers and chilli jus.

as such you can expect to enjoy a first class meal. Head Chef
Phillip Wild has devised a British based menu using local
ingredients where possible. Dishes such as seared saddle of
venison, roast fillet of salmon with wild asparagus, or roast
salad of lamb with truffle potatoes are all guaranteed to
satisfy even the highest expectations and all arrive
beautifully presented for maximum appeal.

The Crooked House Tea Rooms are
indeed set in a crooked house dating back to 1687, what’s
more it’s situated right on the High Street making it a
popular place with tourists in the area. Light meals are
served throughout the day including sandwiches and soups but
what most diners come here for it the delicious cream teas
that can be served with a tempting choice of exotic teas such
as Darjeeling, Assam and Jasmine.
